I recently performed magic at a birthday party for a 30 year old man in downtown Chicago.  Yes, a birthday party for a grown adult.  I know, I know, it’s not what you would expect, but it was a great event to do magic at.  There were 40 or so family and friends gathered from Chicago and the surrounding suburbs, which meant everyone knew each other and enthusiastically participated in the show.  I started doing close-up magic for small groups, then finished with a formal comedy magic show for the whole crowd.  The birthday boy, sorry, the birthday man loved the show.  If only all shows were like this.
